This French beech wooden mantel clock has been made in Basque country during the 30's. The hand carving and painting pattern show a young Basque in traditional costume to the village fountain. The decor is painting and glazing : mixed technique. The movement signed Scout is working but it need a good cleaning. 11"1/4 tall, 7"1/2 width. Good condition.

Pendule de cheminée du pays basque, en bois sculpté de hêtre, peinte et vernis: technique mixte. Le mouvement est de la maison Scout, il fonctionne mais à besoin d'un bon nettoyage et n'a plus sa clef. Né vers 1935, la scène représente une femme en costume traditionnel à la fontaine. Largeur 28.5cm, hauteur 19cm.
