Rare Dovetailed Copper Water Heater Bath Tub Early 18th C

Water heater in solid copper made in France at the beginning of the 18th century. The copper is thick fire brazed and dovetailed. It was used for heat up the water of the bath or tub. They put embers on the brazier on the bottom of the water heater. The both of chimney were used for increase the heat of embers. The bottom is ballasted with sand, the handles are in wrought iron. Good condition, it's slightly twisted and has a small tear on a side as presented on the following pictures. 23 1/4" height 19 1/4" width, weight 22lb 5.89oz (10.146 kilograms).

Chauffe bain de baignoire en cuivre martelé du XVIIIéme siècle. Le cuivre est brasé en créneaux, fond lesté de sable. Les deux cheminées permettent d'augmenter la température des braises. Il est en bon état malgré l'usage, léger biais, petite déchirure, absence de grille de brasero. Hauteur 59 cm, largeur 49 cm poids 10,146 Kg.
