French folk art pottery crowned Virgin Mary with Jesus Child made by St Jorioz near Annecy french Alps. She is signed on the bottom. 8" (20.5cm) tall, 3 1/2" (9cm) diameter to the base, weight 1lb 11.93oz (792 grams). Perfect condition.

Vierge à l'Enfant Jésus, dite "Vierge d'Alitée" en terre vernissée de Haute Savoie. Travail populaire réalisé dans l'atelier de Saint Jorioz, canton sud d'Annecy. Modelée et peinte à la main sur terre cru. Le propriétaire de la manufacture était tourneur de la maison Henriot vers 1949, avant de s'installer à Annecy. Hauteur 20.5 cm, diamètre à la base 9.5 cm. Très bel état.
